The Cape Coast District Court 2 has granted bail to a student at the centre of the assault case that recently took place at Adisadel College.
Presided over by His Worship Eric Oheneba Antwi Boasiako, the court granted bail to the accused student who is scheduled to reappear before the court on August 2, 2023. The reason for the bail was the unavailability of the required number of persons to constitute a jury for the juvenile case.
Earlier this week, the student was arrested by the Police in Cape Coast, for violently attacking a colleague student in the dormitory. The accused was cautioned with causing harm and assault before being released to the school’s Headmaster to be produced in court on Friday.
The incident came to light after the video went viral prompting swift action by the authorities.
Meanwhile, in response to the situation, the victim has been recalled to the school after initially being suspended. The school administration is taking comprehensive measures to ensure his well-being, safety, and recovery.
Further updates on the case will be provided after the court’s hearing on August 2, 2023.
