The Member of Parliament for the Adaklu Constituency, who also serves as the Minority Chief Whip, Kwame Governs Agbodza has made a huge contribution to the development of football in the Adaklu District. He presented various sporting equipment and financial support to the Adaklu District Football Association (FA).
As part of his initiative to promote football in the area, the MP secured office space for the District FA and donated a brand-new motorbike, referees’ jerseys, whistles, flags, cards, a laptop, and an amount of GHS 5,000 to support administrative work. Additionally, he covered the affiliation fees for all football teams in the Adaklu District, enabling the swift commencement of the local football league.
During his address at the event, Mr Agbodza expressed his desire to see Adaklu represented at the national level with a formidable football team. He encouraged the Adaklu District Football Association to seize this opportunity to unite the youth and contribute to the district’s development through sports.
He stressed the importance of discipline and teamwork among coaches and players, urging them to work towards a common goal of establishing a strong football team that can showcase Adaklu on a national and global stage.
The Volta Regional FA Chairman commended the MP, the Adaklu NDC youth wing, and the District FA for their commitment to advancing football in the constituency. He emphasized the importance of taking this project seriously to secure a better future for football in Adaklu.
The Adaklu NDC Youth Organizer, Mack Hoenyekor, and his deputy, Elias Alorwordor, along with other constituency executives, expressed their gratitude to the coaches and District FA executives for attending the event. They acknowledged the MP’s continuous support and dedication to the development of the constituency.
Mr Agbodza assured the participants of his commitment to supporting football in Adaklu in various ways, including paying registration fees for any team interested in joining the FIFA Connect platform. He reiterated his willingness to assist the District FA and local teams in achieving their goals and advancing the sport in the area.
